The Ruth and Charles Gilb Arcadia Historical Museum is opening a new exhibit, “Get Your Kicks on Route 66!” which will run from January 10 through March 28, 2009.
This exhibit will delve into the famous Route 66 which wound from Chicago to Los Angeles, stopping in Arcadia along the way. Explore the sights and sounds of an era long gone by. Reflect on the nostalgic memory of the motor car culture of the 1920s – ‘60s and new inventions such as the highway, motor hotels and the drive-thru. “Won’t you get hip to this timely tip, when you make that California trip, get your kicks on Route Sixty-Six!”
The Arcadia Historical Museum is located at 380 W. Huntington Drive, immediately behind the Community Center. The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is always free.
