The Temple City Unified School District hosted a free Community Health Fair and
5K Run/Walk on Saturday at Temple City Park. Approximately 130 runners and walkers signed up for the second annual race. Mayor Judy Wong was at the finish line cheering the participants on. The first place runners were DJ Reedy, Rachel Reedy, Regis Lee, Annaka Besaw, Josheph Wang, Rebeeca Nunez, Rodrigo Molina, Kristen Alosi, Irving Arana, Jenny Johnson, Anson Lee, and Ron Little. The first place walkers were Jason Soriano, Amanda Harty, Benijamin Gray, Emma Frattasio, Courtney Karch, Blair Baskin, Mark Soriano, Tiffany Haeberlein, Alex Gray, Lisa Karch, Roy Rossell, and Sharon Alosi.
Following the run/walk was the health fair. The vendors at the event included Health Care Partners Temple City, California Mentors, College Hospital, Asian Youth Center, American Income Life, Fitness Poles, Square Foot Gardening, Bright Care Home Health, Arcadia Health Care Center, Huntington Pet Therapy Dogs, Axis Integrative, Western University, Monrovia Health Center, Girl Scouts, Dr. Munoz (San Gabriel Valley Dental Society), Weight Loss Challenge, A Mother’s Touch (massage), N.A.P.A..A.F.A.S.A., Arcadia Fitness Sports Club, Ryan Asao (Keller Williams Realty), Venerable Chiropractic, SQ Wellness, Hoopadelic, L.A. Fitness, Turner & Stevens, Friendly Dental Care, Shin Dance Academy, and Comfort Keepers. The fair included diabetes, grip strength, body fat, and blood pressure screenings. Kids were able to have their face painted and jump around in an inflatable bouncer along with a raffle for the adults. Temple City High School’s Jazz Band and Longden Elementary School’s Drill Team performed in the Performing Arts Pavilion. Assemblyman Anthony Portantino was also in attendance for the festivities.
