Judy Wong Wants to Go to Trial – Turns down 2 Year State Prison Offer

March 5th, 2010 by Terry Miller

Former Temple City Mayor Judy Wong, who stepped down last week from her council post, has been offered a deal of 2-years state prison for her part in the bribery/perjury Piazza scandal that has divided the small city.
Wong was offered two-year state prison sentence in exchange for a guilty plea in her bribery and perjury case
Wong has vowed to fight the charges and wants to go to trial. When contacted Friday, Wong said she was unable to comment on the case and referred us to her attorney. We will update as the case warrants.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Schnegg set a date of March 25 for pretrial conference. This would mean that Wong has to have her trial begin around mid April.
