The public is invited to comment on revisions to the city of Pasadena’s tree protection ordinance with a focus on the regulation of trees on private property.
This third in a series of public workshops, co hosted by the Design Commission and the Urban Forestry Advisory Committee, will be held Monday, March 30, at 6 p.m. at Pasadena Senior Center, 85 E. Holly St.
The workshop will not be related to the issue of public trees discussed at recent Pasadena City Council meetings.
Since the inception of the ordinance in 2002, hundreds of trees have been saved through regulatory review of requests to remove protected native, specimen and landmark trees, and has led to an extensive planting of replacement trees.
Homeowners, developers, arborists, architects, boards, city commissions and committees, neighborhood organizations and community groups are asked to join in this assessment.
Updates, meeting notices, progress reports and background research can be found at www.cityofpasadena.net/treeprotection. The city also has an online public comment form at www.cityofpasadena.net/planningcomments.
