The Monrovia Rotary Club is sponsoring a presentation on Polio throughout the world today on April 18, from 12:30 to 2:30. It is free of charge, with the goal of informing people, especially seniors, of the newest polio problems.
After 20 years of hard work, Rotary and its partners are on the brink of eradicating this tenacious disease, but a strong push is needed now to root it out once and for all. It is a window of opportunity of historic proportions. Shirley Pozzuoli will share her experience as a Polio Survivor and speak on the current Post Polio Syndrome. Greg Jones will share his heartfelt experiences during his participation with inoculation programs in polio-affected countries.
This program is not just for those who have had polio, but also those whose parents may have suffered from this before the vaccine was developed.
