San Gabriel Mission Plans Services for Holy Week

San Gabriel Mission Pastor Rev. Steve Niskanen, CMF has announced the schedule for Roman Catholic Holy Week services at the 237-year-old mission.
A three-language celebration of the Lord’s Supper in English, Spanish and Vietnamese will start at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, in the Chapel of Annunciation, and will be followed by adoration in the old Mission Church until midnight.
Services for Good Friday on April 10, will include a Living Way of the Cross in English and Spanish outdoors on the church grounds starting at 2:30 p.m. A Passion and Communion Service in English will start at 5:30 p.m. in the chapel. A Passion and Communion Service will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Vietnamese in the chapel and in Spanish in the old Mission Church.
On Holy Saturday, April 11, an Easter Vigil Eucharist will start at 7:30 p.m. in front of the chapel, and then the service will continue in English in the old Mission Church, in Spanish in the chapel, and in Vietnamese in the parish center.
The Easter Sunrise Bilingual Mass on Sunday, April 12, is scheduled to start at 6 a.m. in Plaza Park next to the old Mission Church. Other Easter Sunday masses will be in English at 9:30 a.m. in the Mission, 8 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. in the chapel, in Spanish at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the chapel, and in Vietnamese at 3 p.m. in the chapel.
Free parking is available in the church lot at 427 S. Junipero Serra Dr. and on nearby streets.
