Sock-O-Rama and More – Santa’s Paws and Claws Drive

Residents, non-profit organizations, local businesses and youth organizations donated to this year’s Sock-O-Rama & More and Santa’s Paws & Claws holiday drives.
Sock-O-Rama & More accepted donations of new socks for men, women and children as well as undershirts and t-shirts for men. This year’s recipients are the Foothill Unity Center, Friends In Deed and Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Center (assisting veterans). Donations received by the Foothill Unity Center and Friends In Deed benefit low income and homeless men, women and children. Over 3,600 items were received.
A donation of socks, t-shirts and boxer shorts from the Amida Society was received totaling over 1,500 items. The Temple City Kiwanis donated t-shirts, socks, boxer shorts and children’s socks and t-shirts totaling 247 items. Major donations were also received from the Temple City Tennis Club, USC Internal Medicine, and Cub Scout Pack 135. STARS Club members from Cleminson School donated 1,006 pairs of socks and 255 men’s boxer shorts.
Donations for the Santa’s Paws & Claws Drive benefit the “littlest” residents of the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society. Donations of dry and wet dog and cat food, kitty litter, dog and cat toys and sheets and towels were received.
Donations received: Over 541 can and dry cat food, 75 can and dry dog food, 7 bags of kitty litter, assorted toys, towels and sheets were donated.
A donation of $1,500 was received from the Amida Society.
Accepting donations from the Foothill Unity Center were Joan Whitenack, Executive Director; Friends In Deed, Lauren McGrew; Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Center, John DeSoto and Peter Darmanian; San Gabriel Valley Humane Society, John Coleman.
