Owner Cameron Thomas, a Sierra Madre resident with a passion for good food and community involvement announced that “We had a good run, but just couldn’t make it in the end” in closing Steamers Coffee Shop on Monday.
Last week a notice posted on the door of Steamers Coffee Shop at 142 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., Sierra Madre seemed full of hope as the owner announced that the shop would be closed in anticipation of the birth of twins. But today, a sadness swept over the local community as an announcement was posted announcing that Steamers is closed for good.
Future plans in the wind, according to the posted notice, is that the owners may be operating at the Sierra Madre Library under the name Jubilatte. The Jubilatte website will be in operation soon which will allow sales of bulk coffee and tea and a few accessories.
In the meantime, Cameron says he will be at Ap-Petitie in Pasadena, a pastry shop on Lake Ave. just north of Colorado Blvd.
