Christine Keung, a 2010 Temple City High School graduate, has been accepted to Harvard Business School in Cambridge, Massachusetts but will defer her admission to earn a Masters in Business Administration for three to four years while she completes a Fulbright Fellowship.
This summer, Christine travels to Boston to participate in the MassChallenge Accelerator Program, an intensive program of inspirational, educational mentorship for startups and entrepreneurs, and to Washington, D.C. for the Fulbright Pre-Departure Orientation. In September, she leaves for a 10 month trip to Xi’an, China to work as a researcher at Northwest University, exploring rural communities on the Loess Plateau and examining issues of rural immigration and waste infrastructure, as varying degrees of industrialization and urbanization impact these villages.
Christine graduated from Wellesley College in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a minor in Chinese. She has published papers in Computer Science and Environmental Studies, developed a mobile application exercise application for youth, worked as a researcher at Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan
Business School and Olin College of Engineering’s Aging Research Group, and organized Wellesley College’s inaugural Hack-a-thon event. On campus, she mentored first-generation students in the Wellesley Plus program as an Academic Peer Tutor, worked with College administration to develop more resources and support for students from from underprivileged backgrounds, and sat on the Board of Admissions.
Ms. Keung’s professional experience includes financial services consulting, business development, nonprofit, and quality assurance engineering. In her various roles and fellowships, she has met and worked with the likes of Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, Secretary of State Madeline Albright, Secretary of the Treasury, Henry Paulson, and Reporter Cokie Roberts.
